Booth Babes have long been a staple of many different conferences and expos. Technology is fun, but so are breasts and if the slogan, "Sex Sells" has any merit it will certainly rear it's presence at any major gathering of like-minds. Whereas we're sure that tits can motivate all sorts of great achievements, they don't alone (or in multiple sets of two) inspire the quantity or quality of technical reveals saved for release at the major conferences.
Most companies reveal their latest wares at major conferences and expos each one trying to garner media attention and coverage in an attempt to be the "winner". As much as scantily clad, bikini'd booth babes enhance the overall experience, a bad game is still a bad game.
Retro Gaming Analysis
Comic Cons Booth Babes at comic cons are always outstanding regardless of the quality of product offerings. It takes a lot of effort to create a truly awful comic book, so the Booth Babes always enhance the browsing experience at these events. Of course there isn't really a tech scene at comic events, but the Booth Babes are an essential component - so garnering their mention here.
PAX PAX is a game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers. It's called a festival because in addition to dedicated tournaments and freeplay areas they've got nerdcore concerts, panel discussions, and booths displaying the latest from top game publishers and developers. The tech releases here ans well as the Booth Babe just don't match up to the bigger shows.
E3 - Electronic Entertainment Expo is the big boy of the gaming world and all your favorite big-breasted gaming characters are represented in a variety of cosplay. Additionally, the Booth Babes are among the hottest out there. Oh yeah, the technology. Many of the biggest announcements in the gaming world happen here to be broadcast to the masses. However, large tits do not make games play better or challenge hardware to process faster.
CES _Consumer Electronics Show is chock full of technology, but less game-centric. The Booth Babes are high quality, but your iPod will still wig out from time-to-time and your Bluetooth will still fail in the presence of a microwave oven or over-powered vibrator.
Macworld Expo Despite Apple's non-attendance in recent years, the technology here is huge. Many innovations, but the Booth Babes are not quite the caliber or quantity as found in comic cons or gaming expos.
GDC - Game Developer Conference runs high in geek culture with programmers ruling the roost. These guys, although not as intimately familiar with tits, don't get nearly as many at this conference. The programming and development strides are huge, but the quantity of Booth Babes is below par. These guys need tits too!
HOPE - Hackers On Planet Earth is by far the least known, but most advanced conference out there. Presented by 2600 Magazine. the crazy tech these guys devise in their garage-labs is outstanding on a global level, but the Babes are almost non-existent. All code, no tits.
Classic Retro Gaming Conclusion
As much as tits and technology go hand-in-hand, the ample orbs do not seem to effect the quantity or quality of presented technology at trade shows.
