Candy Crush releases Jelly with a commercial full of roller skating & spandex

Puzzle/matching games have never appealed to me, but even an attractive woman in spandex doesn't change my gaming preferences.
In the vast field of mobile games, so many great titles get lost in the void while others flourish. Some worthy titles rise up and become known, but so many live in obscurity. I've had fun with some pretty well known titles like the Stupid Zombies series as well as Subway Surfers. I should also admit I still like to fire up Angry Birds, Flappy Bird, and Clash Of Clans. And my son and I get a kick out of Bad Piggies and Card Wars.

On the more obscure front I'm a big fan of 8-Bit Jim, Ollie Pop Retro, and Turkey Chase for their retro 8-bit-ness. Or course there are also emulators that will let you play almost any retro game ROM.

Few games reach the heights achieved by King's Candy Crush games. I didn't really like this genre - until Nintendo tricked me into playing Pokemon Shuffle - which is ostensibly the same game. Who knew? But I'm not into the pastel candy-colors of the game, which has a high female player demographic. Then they release a TV ad featuring a woman in spandex roller skating around the Jelly Queen.

It's a devious marketing ploy to use spandex in an attempt to win me over to the Jelly side. However, it won't work. Pokemon Shuffle is as close to Candy Crush as I will go... But I may watch their TV commercial a few more times.
